Introducing the courses

All our courses are interactive and intended for use in groups over a series of weeks. Participants are encouraged to encounter Jesus through personal times of prayer and led meditations in groups. Through these practices participants will grow in the knowledge and experience of God’s love.

All of our courses materials (PDFs and audio streams) are available on a pay-what-you-like basis.

Staying in the Vine Course

Staying in the Vine is an interactive course for groups.  The course introduces and develops the classical spiritual disciplines, and in the process — inspires faith and enhances community.

Staying in the Vine is a wonderful place for those wanting to develop in their spiritual walk and deepen their relationship with God. The course has been written by Tina Squires and incorporates the meditations of Dorinda Miller.

The course includes opportunities to:

  • encounter Jesus through course work and meditations
  • listen to one another’s experiences
  • deepen your understanding of God’s love
  • listen for the voice of God in surprising places
  • practice steps in meditation

Staying in the Vine Plus

The Call to Contemplation

The aim of this follow-on course is the development of the prayer practices of solitude and silence and contemplation.

The material emphasises the need to listen to God, to become rooted within community, and to be open to the transformational work of the Holy Spirit through the rhythms and practices of spiritual disciplines.

The candidates share their experiences, reflections and insights over a series of weeks followed by a two night retreat. The group work and the individual exercises act as ‘spiritual direction in practice’ through listening and the mutual encouragement this brings.

Candidates are given the tools to engage in a life of contemplation as part of busyness, learning to operate from the Divine Centre. They learn how to make the whole of one’s life a prayer and develop the practice of the Presence of God.
